Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join the Tools and Fixture Design team (MPCT) in Oskarshamn. This position is aimed at strengthening the team's capability to support the development, design, and production of advanced manufacturing equipment, particularly within cab production.

The role primarily focuses on designing assembly fixtures used in workshop environments, while also offering opportunities to contribute to broader production areas such as logistics, press, body, and paint operations. The team consists of approximately ten designers with diverse expertise, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work culture.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and engineer mechanical solutions for production equipment, with a strong emphasis on assembly fixtures

Support assembly workshops by creating, optimizing, and refining fixture designs

Contribute to tooling and equipment design across multiple production domains including logistics, press, body, and paint

Collaborate closely with production teams, engineering departments, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient and functional design solutions

Utilize CATIA V5 for 3D design and modeling activities

Manage product and design data within the Enovia PLM system

Participate actively in design reviews, validation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure designs meet operational, safety, and manufacturing requirements

Required Experience

Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing or production environments

Hands-on experience in designing production equipment or fixtures

Strong proficiency in CATIA V5

Familiarity with PLM systems, preferably Enovia

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within the automotive or heavy industrial sectors

Background in fixture design for assembly line operations

Understanding of manufacturing and production processes

Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary industrial environments

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Work Structure

Initially, more than 50% on-site presence at the client location is expected to ensure proper onboarding and integration with the team

As independence in the role increases, there will be flexibility to reduce on-site requirements

Language Requirements

English - Proficient

Swedish - Basic (preferred but not mandatory)
