About this opportunity:

Are you ready to contribute to dependable connectivity solutions for mobile robots by leveraging data-driven prediction of network KPIs such as latency, reliability, and throughput? This Master's thesis opportunity within Ericsson Research's Cyber-Physical Systems area, Decision & Control team, focuses on incorporating network KPI predictions into cyber-physical control and decision-making loops. You will conduct applied research at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and networks within a leading industry research group, showcasing your innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and skills to revolutionize future connected devices and machines.

What you will do:

• Research and develop data-driven models to predict network KPIs relevant to mobile robotic systems.

• Integrate network KPI predictions into cyber-physical control and decision-making frameworks.

• Employ machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow to build predictive models.

• Work with programming in Python and utilize Linux and Docker environments.

• Evaluate and test solutions for reliability, latency, and throughput improvements in networked robotic applications.

• Compare your approach with existing methods to assess its effectiveness.

The skills you bring:

• MSc studies in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Telecommunications, Control engineering or related fields.

• Experience with ML/AI development frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.

• Programming skills in Python, experience with Linux and Docker.

• Good understanding of mobile networks, including 5G technology.

• Ability to formulate and solve problems independently and collaboratively.

• Strong analytical skills and eagerness to learn and share knowledge.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with good presentation abilities.
