About this opportunity:
AI tools are increasingly integrated into professional workflows, but existing benchmarks focus mainly on general logic and knowledge. There is a lack of evaluation frameworks that measure how AI performs in practical, economically valuable tasks specific to telecommunications-such as solution configuration. This gap makes it challenging for telecom companies to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding AI adoption, R&D investment, and governance. Ericsson seeks to address this by developing benchmarks tailored to telecom-specific functions, enabling strategic business decisions and risk management.
What you will do:
- Measure and compare AI model performance on key configuration tasks versus human experts.
- Quantify the business and strategic implications of AI adoption in telecom configuration.
- Identify and select key configuration tasks relevant to Ericsson's business.
- Collect representative examples and solutions from both AI models and human experts.
- Conduct blind evaluations with experts ranking the quality of AI and human outputs.
The skills you bring:
- Master's level education in Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in business modelling and data-driven strategy.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and their impact on business value and operations.
- Interest in emerging technologies and their strategic implications for telecom.
- Suitable for 1 or 2 students.
