If you enjoy deep diving into the Swedish economy, have the ability to interpret complex data and like presenting your conclusions based on solid analytical foundations, this is the place for you!In the research team in Stockholm, we cover the Swedish economy, fixed income and FX products. The Swedish research team is part of the wider Research organisation within Danske Bank, and there is close cooperation across the Nordic countries. From our macro view and forecasts, we draw conclusions on how this will impact financial markets, to provide the best advice possible to our clients and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
- You will support our economic analysis related to Swedish households and collaborate closely with the bank’s other macroeconomists and the Swedish Chief Economist.
- You will have a special focus on enhancing the understanding of economic matters among Swedish households.
- You will be responsible for making forecasts on relevant variables.
- You will analyse and comment on political initiatives that economically affect our customers. An important part of the role includes representing Danske Bank across various media channels, including social media.
We are looking for a self-driven team player and a versatile economist who is comfortable presenting their own analysis. You are skilled at simplifying complex economic concepts and effectively and pedagogically communicating them to our customers and the public.
You will interact with many different parts of the bank, both geographically and across business units, so strong communication skills are important. You are comfortable with public exposure and visibility, and you are an engaging communicator who consistently contributes to strengthening Danske Bank’s visibility and brand.

Skills and requirements for the position
- You have at least a master’s degree in economics and previous experience in conducting macro analysis.
- Experience in producing macroeconomic forecasts and analysing households' financial situations is considered an advantage.
- Strong presentation skills and previous experience in participating in the media. You naturally handle various platforms, such as video, TV, and social media.
- Fluent in English and Swedish.
- As the role involves a lot of number-crunching, deep knowledge of tools such as Excel, Macrobond , etc., is needed. Basic programming skills (e.g. VBA, Python) are seen as an asset.
- A Swedsec Specialist license will be required.
