Your new role

As Key Account Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that Otsuka's innovative rare disease therapies reach the patients who need them most. You will build long-term, trust-based relationships with highly specialized healthcare professionals and decision-makers, combining scientific understanding with empathy and purpose.

Working closely with the cross-functional team, you will identify needs and opportunities to strengthen Otsuka's rare disease portfolio. You will take ownership of field-market access and account management, refining and expanding existing stakeholder mapping and strategic initiatives with creativity, insight, and drive.

In this role, you:
  • Implement and execute account strategies aligned with brand objectives.
  • Identify and address opportunities to enhance access and patient outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional collaboration across medical, market access, and commercial teams.
  • Build strong scientific partnerships and networks with healthcare professionals.
  • Educate and engage stakeholders, ensuring understanding and optimal product use.
  • Follow up on specific patient cases to help remove barriers to treatment.
  • Take a hands-on approach - willing to roll up your sleeves to make things happen.
  • Act as a project leader who connects people, drives initiatives, and turns ideas into tangible results.
  • Work creatively and proactively, bringing forward innovative solutions that align with Otsuka's patient-centered mission.

You are a scientifically driven, self-starting professional who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You have a rare disease mindset: resilient, empathetic, purpose-driven and the ability to operate independently, without the need for extensive onboarding.

Key Capabilities:
  • Strong scientific and clinical knowledge.
  • Experience in field-Market Access, Medical Affairs, or Account Management
  • Facilitate access by identifying key treatment and referral centers, and fostering collaboration between them to optimize patient care and identification
  • Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Project leadership and problem-solving ability.
  • Creativity and innovative thinking.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess local market dynamics and identify future opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and facilitation skills.
  • Strategic, analytical, and structured mindset.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and personal leadership.
  • Acting as a scientific consultant with a digital mindset and strong market awareness.

Qualifications and experience
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical sales with RX products.
  • Proven track record in Key Account Management with specialist HCPs.
  • Background in rare diseases (especially HAE) is a prerequisite for successfully creating results.
  • University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English (negotiation level).
  • Willingness to travel across the assigned region.
