My name is Nina Fogelberg and I work as Head of B2B Products & Platforms at Telia Finance. We are now looking for a Java Developer to join our Transformation team - the team behind the migration of our core financial platform from COBOL to Java. The platform is expected to be in production in early 2026. Could this be your next opportunity?

Final is Telia Finance's core platform supporting our B2B business products - Leasing and Billing. As a Java Developer you will be responsible for developing/re-writing integrations, developing functions according to our new design philosophy and being part of the modernization of the migrated platform. Our new design will replace functions that are not part of the one-to-one migration of the platform. We are in the transformation journey of migrating the current Cobol based platform to Java, in this work we also need to transform integrations and file flows so that these can communicate with the new Java based platform. Please note that this platform is exclusively an on-premises environment, making this an exciting challenge for someone who thrives in non-cloud infrastructure and legacy transformations.

The role is primarily backend-focused (Java), with some exposure to DevOps tooling and a smaller frontend component. Think of it as roughly 70% backend Java development, 20% DevOps/infrastructure, and 10% frontend.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based integrations and platform modules
• Perform code reviews and uphold high code quality standards
• Work with Oracle RDBMS for database integration
• Operate in Kubernetes-based Linux environments, including Bash scripting
• Write and maintain tests and technical documentation
• Contribute to frontend development using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS when needed
  

Is this you?

To succeed in this role, we believe you have at least 5+ years of backend development experience in Java, and are comfortable with management tools like Maven, as well as on-premises Kubernetes-based Linux environments. You have previously been working with modern version control and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitHub Runners, and JFrog Artifactory. A solid understanding of test-driven development (TDD) is essential.

Key experience:

• Hands-on coding and code reviews to maintain high code quality standards - at least 5+ years of Java backend development
• Experience with build and dependency management tools, such as Maven
• Working in Kubernetes-based Linux environments, including Bash scripting
• Version control and CI/CD tools, including GitHub, GitHub Runners, and JFrog Artifactory
• Database integration experience, particularly with Oracle RDBMS
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD)
• Fluency in English is required; fluency in Swedish is preferred
• Experience with advanced invoicing solutions, accounts receivable systems, or accounting functionality within a business system context is considered a plus

• Location: Solna, Stockholm - you must be based in Sweden and hold a valid Swedish work permit
• Environment: fully on-premises, no cloud infrastructure
• A background check (extended, including register and financial check) will be conducted as part of the hiring process
