About this opportunity
Join Ericsson's patent portfolio team to support and expand our leadership in media compression and coding. This role focuses on deep technical analysis of video and audio coding standardisation and associated technologies to identify, protect, and monetize innovations used in current and future media-driven services.
You will be a technical analyst specializing in media coding standards. Using deep knowledge of video and audio codec design and standardisation processes, you will translate codec-level technical details into licensing and patent portfolio development.

What you will do
• Produce and review high-quality claim charts and technical evidence for patent and licensing projects.
• Work closely with R&D, codec contributors, and commercial teams to align technical insights with IP strategy and monetization initiatives.
• Support technical negotiations and provide expert testimony or evidence as part of licensing discussions where needed.
• Contribute to process and tooling improvements for media coding analysis and IP workflows.
• Stay up to date on future standardisation activities to identify patentable subject matter and technical value drivers.

The skills you bring
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Signal Processing, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
• Deep knowledge of video or audio compression techniques and standards (for example HEVC, VVC, AVC, EVS, IVAS) and familiarity with codec tools such as intra/inter prediction, transform coding, loop filters, entropy coding, rate-control, and perceptual metrics.
• Experience in codec R&D, standardisation contributions, or detailed technical analysis of media compression algorithms is highly valued.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills; experience preparing claim charts or equivalent technical documentation.
• Good collaboration and communication skills across R&D, standards, and commercial teams.
• Familiarity with patent concepts, or strong willingness to learn them.

Describe your relevant technical experience, contributions to standards or R&D, and any patent or licensing-related work you have performed. We look forward to learning how you can contribute to protecting and growing Ericsson's technology leadership in your area of expertise.
