HSE Field Engineer

To our growing EPCM project team in Sweden

Are you ready to make a real difference? We are looking for a driven and solution-orientedHSE Field Engineerwho wants to help ensure our projects are delivered to the highest possible safety standards - every day, out on site.

About the role

As an HSE Field Engineer, you will primarily work on our project sites across Sweden (with some flexibility for travel and occasional office-based work). You will play a key role in translating company HSE objectives into practical site execution - from early construction phases through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide daily HSE presence and support on site - acting as the company's frontline representative for health, safety, and environment
  • Conduct risk assessments (SJAs), toolbox talks, and safety briefings
  • Support and coach contractors and subcontractors in meeting HSE requirements and project-specific risk management plans
  • Participate in and lead incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Perform HSE inspections, observations, and audits (planned and unannounced)
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project HSE plans and procedures
  • Report HSE KPIs (leading and lagging indicators), near misses, and incidents
  • Ensure compliance with Swedish legislation (e.g. Work Environment Authority regulations, Environmental Code) as well as client and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.)
  • Support permit-to-work systems, LOTO, work at height, ATEX zones, and other high-risk activities

Who are you?
  • Relevant university or college degree (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles within project environments - preferably construction, infrastructure, process, energy, or oil & gas
  • Experience from site-based EPCM, EPC, or contractor environments is highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of Swedish work environment legislation and regulations (AFS)
  • Practical experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and behavioural safety
  • Fluent Swedish (spoken and written - mandatory) and very good English
  • Valid driver's license (B)
  • Beneficial certifications: Working at Height, Hot Work, First Aid/CPR, Scaffolding, Safe Lifting, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, or similar

Personal qualities we value
  • High integrity and the courage to speak up when something is unsafe
  • Pedagogical and relationship-oriented - able to influence without authority
  • Solution-focused rather than rule-driven
  • Structured, communicative, and comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Enjoys being out in the field and brings strong presence and energy

Your future colleagues

You will join ourBuildings & Industrydivision, where we deliver full facility design for major clients. Our projects span the entire value chain - from feasibility and conceptual design to procurement, construction management, inspections, and commissioning. You will work alongside industry leaders to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable industrial solutions.
