We are seeking an exceptional Head of Verification and Validation to lead our efforts in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our autonomous transport systems. This key leadership role will drive the fostering and growth of industry-leading verification and validation (V&V) efforts that support our ambitious development roadmap.
Job Overview

• Lead the V&V efforts for our autonomous transport system, integrating standard testing efforts, advanced simulation techniques and cutting-edge tools and methods (such as machine learning techniques) to accelerate our time-to-deployment while maintaining rigorous safety standards and high quality testing
• Drive the creation of a unified testing framework that seamlessly connects all validation stages (software unit testing through vehicle integration), enabling efficient field deployments
• Collaborate with the hard- and software engineering leadership to shape strategic direction while building and mentoring high-performing teams that embrace lean methodologies and continuous improvement
• Report into the VP Autonomous Driving

Key Responsibilities

• Provide both tactical and strategic leadership for the V&V team, leveraging your 5+ years of leadership experience to build and mentor a high-performing organization
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine lean and robust processes harmonized with our Systems Engineering team
• Champion our world-leading safety concept through formalized verification and validation methodologies that set us apart from competitors
• Drive initiatives to decrease testing turn-around times through expanded virtual verification capabilities and simulation-based approaches ("shift left")
• Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced, best-in-class testing tools and artificial intelligence solutions for test planning, execution, and tracking
• Own and continue to grow a coherent testing framework that seamlessly integrates all test stages (SW unit framework, SIL simulation, HIL, VIL) supporting monthly field deployments to production vehicles - with full traceability to requirements in compliance with ISO26262
• Serve as a key member of the AD leadership team, collaborating closely with Safety & Systems Engineering, Software & Architecture, Perception & Machine Learning, and Robotics
• Lead test prioritization efforts and coordinate test activities and infrastructure scheduling with TestOps
• Coach and mentor development leaders about testing principles in software engineering
• Foster a safety culture that endorses continuous improvement, a rigorous commitment to quality and integrity, while emphasizing lean methodologies and elimination of waste in testing processes

QualificationsExperience

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in high-growth technology environments
• Proven track record of delivering verified and validated autonomous products into production, including both software and hardware
• Experience implementing and scaling engineering processes in rapidly evolving organizations
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in V-cycle automotive engineering and applicable standards and verification methods (ISO 26262, ISO 21448)
• Proficiency in functional & nominal safety and cybersecurity
• Familiarity with machine learning safety and verification methods (ISO 8800)
• Familiarity with simulation-based verification and validation methodologies
• Proven track record of working with complex systems with safety requirements into production

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) (Swedish or German is a plus)
