We are now looking for driven individual to join our Battery Cell Procurement Team.

The Battery Cell & Module Procurement team operates in a strategic area crucial for the company's success. Collaboration is at the heart of our operations. We work closely with various departments, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with overall company goals. We frequently engage in market analysis and supplier evaluations to maintain a competitive edge. Given the rapidly evolving nature of the battery industry, the team is constantly innovating and finding solutions to emerging challenges, such as material shortages or regulatory changes.

What you´ll do?

In this role, you will lead and support cross-functional business projects for battery components in our strategic electronic control units in the cars. You will be responsible for the relationship with our battery suppliers, which means working with partnerships, new collaboration models and direct negotiation. This includes preparation, implementation, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract management. You will support, develop and implement supplier strategies, create and maintain commercial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. You will be working tightly with our engineering and strategy department to align the business to the technical strategy. This position will give you an opportunity to have a key role in a strategic area with high focus from Senior management.

You enjoy working proactively with key stakeholders to understand your components, its market, delivery base and potential innovation, to find ways to increase the value of Volvo Cars, including cost, quality and sustainability.

What you`ll bring?

• You have experience of doing business in an international environment with global suppliers where a strong business acumen is a prerequisite as well as an ability to shift between short term focus and long-term ambitions. You gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity

• You have at 3-5 years of experience in Commercial and/or Engineering work and have previous experiences with electronics market, commercial negotiations and legal knowledge

• Structured and organized approach that enables complexity and different interfaces

• Confidence to act in an international environment and influence stakeholders, and fluent communication in English.

• Consistency in achieve results, even under tough circumstances and active search for new opportunities, by using both formal and informal development channels

• Collaborative approach and drive to meet shared objectives

• Knowledge and skills from supplier management and contractual topics, such as fact-based negotiations/discussions

• Business or Technical University degree or equal experience.
