Excavator Operator Power and Fiber Network Construction

Vikingschakt AB is looking for an experienced excavator operator for groundworks related to underground power and fiber networks. You will operate both tracked and wheeled excavators, working together with a groundworker or in a larger team. The work includes trenching and laying of cables as part of building robust and long-lasting infrastructure.

Important: This job is based on projects across Sweden, mostly in remote locations. You will be away from home for extended periods of time.

Main tasks

Excavate and prepare trenches for underground cable routes

Lay power and fiber cables according to drawings and standards

Keep a daily work log and plan tasks independently

Ensure compliance with permits, safety procedures, and regulations

Use digital tools for reporting and documentation

Requirements

Valid excavator license (Swedish "yrkesbevis" or equivalent)

Experience in groundworks for cable or fiber network construction

Ability to read and follow construction drawings

Skilled in operating both tracked and wheeled excavators

Basic mechanical skills - able to perform simple repairs and routine maintenance on machinery

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Fluent in English (spoken and written); Swedish is a plus

BE driver's license
