Join us in Heating & Cooling Nordics leading the electrification of heat - a team growing quickly in the business. We are looking for an experienced Development Manager in industrial engineering projects, to take full technical ownership of the development to design phase for large-scale district heating and industrial production projects, mainly in Sweden and Finland. You will participate in and manage R&D projects and technical scouting. You are a lifelong learner with a strong curiosity in new technical developments.About the role
In this role, you will lead the technical project development and design of heat production plants during the project's development to design phase in line with customer and internal expectations.
Your responsibilities:
- Oversee system integration and engineering for new production assets.
- Acquire and lead external engineering consultants, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables.
- Collaborate with procurement to prepare technical specifications and oversee equipment tendering and negotiations.
- Lead technical part of the projects from flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, layout plans, automation, electrification, CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
- Strong collaboration with business- and product development teams. Ensure alignment with safety, environmental, grid and customer requirements.
- Coordinate multi-technology stakeholder interfaces (electrical safety, automation and IT security) for overall technological readiness in plant development.
- Act as the technical lead throughout the planning, permitting and investment decision process.
The job requires traveling and you will be part of building our Swedish organization. This role is based in one of our offices in Solna, Göteborg or Karlstad.
About you
To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have:
- Solid experience from industrial production projects in Sweden.
- 10+ years' experience from e.g. power plant engineering, district heating projects or pulp and paper projects in Sweden.
- Proven experience in designing heating and/or electrical production plants and processes in an industrial environment.
- Experience in consultant management and equipment procurement processes.
- Strong understanding of leading industrial heat production projects.
- Ability to develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances.
- Familiarity with electric grid interfaces, district heating networks, and thermal storage dynamics.
- Experience in preparing technical documentation for procurement and tenders.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, safety, and permitting processes relevant to energy infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary industrial projects including external consultants.
- Strong collaboration skills with procurement, project, O&M and business teams.
- Excellent skills in English and Swedish (Finnish will be considered an advantage).
- Self-driven, strong curiosity for continues technical learning and development.
