Mission:

Firstly, the CoE is responsible for raising the maturity of all teams that seek to gain insights from data. We provide training, standards, best practices, infrastructure, advice and resources. We seek cross-orgainsation collaborations, aim to remove siloed ways of working and promote consistency of approach.

Secondly the CoE has a strategic responsibility to help our organisation become data driven. We are aiming to achieve that through a common data infrastructure, promoting data democratisation, promoting a data first mindset, implementing self-service and applying advanced analytics.

Responsibilities and objectives:

You will be expected to take ownership of the following objectives (with priorities determined in collaboration with the CoE Manager).

Evolving the Reference Architecture while adhering to principles agreed within the Business Area.

Define standards, guidelines and best practices within the data domain

Define and evolve the Data Catalog governance

Ensure we are getting the optimal use of our data technology landcscape

Advise data teams on an optimal approach for their data projects

Lead or contribute on any of the topics related to our strategic aim of becoming a data driven organisation

Lead or contribute to cross organisational data communities

Evolve the platform Operating Service

Provision the infrastructure needed by teams wishing to work with data and to optionally manage the infrastructure for them. You should seek to achieve this as efficiently as possible.

You will be required to collaborate with the Data Platform Architect on all these topics and to determine the priorities of that person

You will be required to collaborate with other third parties to achieve optimal outcomes

You will be expected to keep abreast of industry developments and recommend new ways of working

Experience requirements & knowledge:

Minimum five years of experience from working with data and analytics, minumum two years in a senior role such as a data architect or senior data engineer

Proven knowledge of Microsoft Azure components on an expert level, i.e. knowledge of Microsoft Azure DataLake, DataBricks, Azure DevOps, DataFactory and PowerBI.

Terraform knowledge is an advantage as is any experience with a leading Data Catalog solution

Fluent in English, in both writing and speaking

Educational requirements:

Bachelor or Master of Science in Information Systems, Engineering or Economics or equivalent

Personality requirements:

You will bring energy to the team and challenge your teammates on the way to the best solution

You are curious and have an open mindset, both in your work of creating new functionality and in participating in our ongoing development

You take pride both in creating sustainable solutions as well as delivering results on time

You are ready to work together with a team that has a strong focus on delivering according to set goals

Apart from your team working skills you are a problem solver who understands user requests and can transform them into excellent solutions

You are able to work independantly on complex tasks whilst having the maturity to have your work critiqued by your peers.

Whilst requiring a technical backgrounmd, ideally you could have some managerial, team lead or project lead experience. The role suits a person of maturity that wishes to move their career towards management
