Category Metal, Plastic and Float glass is the home for 4 categories and has 250 co-workers in different locations across the world. We lead and develop the global supply chain for our categories, including everything from plastic raw materials to production of potato peelers to huge bunkbeds in carbon steel, to secure availability of our products in all IKEA customer meeting points globally. Job description

As Category Area Manager within Category Area Metal Plastic Float glass, you will be leading the whole organization towards the future. Together with the members of the CA Management Team, you will be responsible for:
  • Develop and implement Sourcing and Material Directions connected to the different materials or categories/industries with a time horizon of 3+ years.
  • Lead and develop the Category Area Management team where you will be responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, retention, and succession both for your team and to secure for whole CA.
  • Identify and lead work on business synergies, performance and budget for the entire Category Area.
  • Build alignment across different business units to reach common goals and priorities, leading and supporting common and improved ways of working.
  • Secure that we have values driven, talented, competent, and high performing leaders
  • Participate in creation of the overall strategies for Purchasing Development for total IKEA as a member of Purchasing Development Management Team.

You come with a track record in a leadership and management position. You are a proven leader, leading people & business together. Leading by example, you consistently bring out the best in your team and those around you, embodying and promoting IKEA's core values in every environment. You are committed to male sure that our values are not only present but thrive & develop.

With experience of leading business on strategic level you have a strong ability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver excellent results. You enjoy working on a strategic level while also being able to zoom in on operational/tactical levels when needed. You constantly look for synergies and strive to bring people to achieve better together.
