Each business area contributes to Scanias overall strategy and by building ventures within priopritzed opportunities we support the transformation. To support this ambition, we are now looking for aBusiness Area Strategist- a thoughtful, analytical, and hands-on partner to a Business Area Lead, working close to the business to help turn strategic direction into tangible progress. The Business Area Lead (Sector Lead) is overall responsible for the Ventures within that portfolio.

Role Summary

As a Business Area Strategist, you are an integral part of aBusiness Area team, working side by side with the Business Area Lead. You act as a key analytical and operational counterpart, helping to shape priorities, structure complex questions, and support fast, high-quality decision-making.

Your work is closely connected to theventureswithin the business area. You support follow-up, progress tracking, and prioritisation across the portfolio, helping ensure that effort and attention are focused where they create the most value and growth for Scania.

You help translate strategic opportunities into concrete plans, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to the business area's work. This includes supporting preparation for decision forums and board discussions, as well as ensuring alignment across stakeholders involved in moving initiatives forward.

While your role is firmly anchored in the business area, you will also connect with peers across Ventures and New Business to share perspectives and contribute to aligned ways of working were helpful.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you support both the strategic and operational development of your business area. You conduct market research and internal analyses to inform decisions, and you prepare clear, well-structured material for agendas, updates, and decision-making.

You help create focus by supporting prioritisation, planning, follow-up, and delivery. An important part of your role is distinguishing between day-to-day operational topics and larger business area or portfolio development initiatives - ensuring time and effort are spent where they have the greatest impact.

You work closely with stakeholders across Scania and with our ventures to move topics forward, build alignment, and ensure progress, always with the business area's objectives and growth ambitions as the starting point.

Who You Are

You enjoy working close to the business, at the intersection of strategy and execution. You are comfortable navigating complexity, structuring open-ended questions, and supporting others in making well-informed decisions. You bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a pragmatic mindset, and you value collaboration.

You have several years of experience from strategy, consulting, business development, or similar roles, where analysis, decision support, and cross-functional collaboration have been central. You are used to managing multiple topics in parallel, communicating clearly with different stakeholders, and adapting your message to both senior and operational audiences.

You care about quality, but you also care about progress. You take pride in creating clarity and structure, helping teams focus on what matters most, and contributing to outcomes that drive real business impact and growth.
