Terms and Duration

This position is a full-time fixed-term contract for seven months with the possibility of extension if both parties agree. You need to have a valid working permit for Sweden. You also need to be present at the workplace.

Job Description

You will work in a team of chemists, colorists and technical experts supporting the customer in product development matters. You will cooperate with production, sales, suppliers and with the global R&D for Beckers-Group. Product development, technology and customer focus are essentials for Beckers, and you join forces with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our technology and product portfolio perform according to customer needs today and in the future.

In this position, you will be a key player in improving our coating systems. You will work with different technologies; a major part will be to optimize the solvent composition. This role is a temporary position lasting seven months. The daily work will consist of planning, laboratory work, documentation, and troubleshooting. Together with internal and external stakeholders you provide sustainable and business-supported offerings that add value to our customers and makes a difference in Becker sustainability and safety agenda as well as our customers' sustainability targets.

Main Tasks

Your primary focus will be to optimize the solvent composition in coating formulations with sustainability and safety in focus. Your tasks will be but not limited to:
  • Develop and modify products with sustainability and safety in focus
  • Evaluate products according to customer specifications
  • Document and present your work
  • Keep good contact with key stakeholders

Your responsibilities and deliverables
  • Establish project plan for development and modification of products
  • Fulfil the solvent optimization project according to plan and priorities
  • Report and present results internally and for customer
  • Keep good contact with raw material suppliers
  • Search and share information regarding product development and modifications with other Beckers sites
  • Always follow Beckers safety instructions and act according to Beckers values


Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in chemistry
  • Experience in coating- or surface treatment industry is valuable but not mandatory
  • Responsible, analytical, thorough and high sense of quality
  • Innovative, can think outside the box and have a will to grow
  • You are comfortable and capable of integrating with several stakeholders
  • Good communication- and presentation skills in English
